how much are Addidas or Nikes shoes overthere? how about PS2 and XBox and mp3 players? What about renting a house?
How much money do i need to live comfortably overthere? |

if that is any indication of what it costs to live in Seoul, I don't think I will ever be able to afford it...OMG $7,000.00 and up per month??? and thats U.S. dollars....it was just a pipe dream anyway...but sheesh[/quote:5fe30620cb]
7000000 KRW a month for a six-bedroom apartment? That's reasonable, at least in Seoul. Search more carefully, and you find stuff as low as 800000 a month, even in Gangnam-gu.

Not that I'd want to move to Korea any time soon, but Seoul is probably the most expensive place to start looking for housing. Maybe smaller cities would be better.
Are there any restrictions against foreigners renting or owning real estate in Korea? That always causes trouble in Japan, to my knowledge and the experience of others. I'd just wonder what the legal differences would be, since it seems prices are a bit more than I would expect.
In any case, if you want to live anywhere, it's probably a good idea to learn the local language(s) [b:5fe30620cb]before[/b:5fe30620cb] moving there. Some people don't think it's a big deal, but you would be surprised. At least with some of my family not knowing English in an English-speaking country, it's trouble. Maybe that's just the nature of English. In any case, don't count on always having someone in a foreign country who speaks [i:5fe30620cb]your[/i:5fe30620cb] language(s) in time of need. |

uhm wouldn't your salary have to be at least $250k a year for that?
since they say no more than 1/3 of your pay should go to housing. |

| Yes, but if you need six bedrooms in Seoul, I should think you have a lot of money already, right? |

Okay. $7000 / 6 == $1166.67 per month per person, still not cheap.
I wonder if there are other sources of information. |
