Economic Effects of 'Winter Sonata' Worth US$2.3 Billion

A leading economic research institute in Japan says the economic effect of Korea's TV drama series "Winter Sonata" both in Korea and Japan is worth more than US$2.3 billion.
According to a joint study conducted by Japanese economists and the state-run broadcaster NHK, Japanese fans of "Winter Sonata" who visited Korea have spent on average Y160,000 or roughly US$1,500 on a single trip.

The report indicates the economic effect in Korea alone this year totals about US$1.2 billion in revenues stemming from hotel, retail and transportation industries.

Sales of DVDs, CDs, and books related to the mega-hit Korean TV soap-opera is reported to be strong as well as products endorsed by the two leading Korean actors.

Only the older the middle age women like that drama... Well, not just "like", they r crazy to it and to the pe yonjun (i dunno how to spell his name)
Did u know wat happend when he came to visit to Japan? More than 15 middle age woman were injuried because they were so carzy about him that pushend one another for can see him... Rolling Eyes

That drama is just 'Ok' level, the story is so slow, I even had not patient to finish it.

No, as for me.. I think this drama is good.. I like it... All the Endless Love Series.... from 1 up to 3
