I am just wondering if there will be a time when this site will display their lessons in hangeul instead of romanising everything. This site looks great and has a lot of promise, however, learning Korean through romanised text is only useful for those too lazy to put in 3 hours to learn how to read hangeul and completely useless to a serious student of the language.
I really hope to see some hangeul in the future so that students of the Korean language may use this site to it's full potential. |

| I know of a site which is strictly hangeul, and i have to say for one who is not korean it was practically impossible to learn anything from the start, the mromanisation i have found here has helped a great deal and more importantly has given me a btter understanding of how to pronounce the words. |

| I learned Korean when I was living in Japan and so I never had to go through romanization, thank god. Luckily hangeul is easy enough to learn that you don't have to spend more than a week or two with roman letters, and after that you're finally free of them. |

I agree with Jack. I was disappointed to discover that only the romanized form is used and I hope that will change in the near future. I'd like to suggest to the creators of the site that using both would satisfy those who feel it helps with pronunciation, etc. and those of us who prefer to do it the hard way.
Otherwise, a very helpful site. Thanks. |

I also think the site would be a lot (10000%) better if things were not romanized.
Zenridge, we don't think the [b:bbf40ade7c]entire site[/b:bbf40ade7c] should be in hangeul, but parts of the lessons.
For example:
[quote:bbf40ade7c]
In Korean there are two sets of numbers which are used when counting, the first set are known as pure Korean numbers, and the other are Sino-korean which is based on the chinese numerals.
The use of these numbers depends on the context in which it is used, for example the pure korean numbers are used when counting hours, and the sino korean when used to count minutes.
kong 0
il 1
[/quote:bbf40ade7c]
"kong" and "il" above could have been written in hangeul.
I find that a lot of romanization is English-biased, which in some cases makes it [b:bbf40ade7c]harder[/b:bbf40ade7c] instead of easier to learn if your native language is not English. |
