Korea made a good start on the way to Germany as they defeated Lebanon 2:0 in the Asian Preiminary Competition match(Group 7) for the FIFA World Cup Germany 2006.
In the match of February 18, 2004 at the Suwon World Cup Stadium, Korea easily dominated the field throughout the match.
But there was a scary moment in the 30th minute, as Korea's defender Kim Tae-Young committed a foul on a Lebanese attacker and allowed a penatly kick.
Goal keeper Lee Woon-Jae(Suwon Bluewings) managed to stop the Lebanese from scoring their first goal with a brilliant save against kicker Mohammad Kassas.
Cha Du-Ri(Eintracht Frankfurt) scored an easy header with an acurrate cross from Lee Young-Pyo(PSV Eindhoven) in the 32nd minute.
In the 52nd minute, Cho Byung-Kuk(Suwon Bluewings) collected another header from a corner kick from Park Ji Sung(PSV Eindhoven)
Korea travels to the Maldives on March 31st for their next World Cup Qualifying match.

South Korea, which reached the semifinals at the 2002 World Cup, blanked Lebanon 2-0 Wednesday while Japan topped Oman 1-0.
China, another World Cup finals participant, nipped Kuwait 1-0, while Saudi Arabia defeated Indonesia 3-0.

In Seoul, forward Cha Du-ri scored South Korea's first goal in the 32nd minute, heading in a low-flying pass from Lee Young-pyo.
Cho Byung-kuk made it 2-0 in the 50th minute with a header off a corner pass from Park Ji-sung.
In Saitama, Japan, substitute Tatsuhiko Kubo scored three minutes into injury time as Japan squeaked past Oman 1-0.
With just over a minute remaining, Kubo picked up a loose ball in front of the net and fired past Oman goalkeeper Ali Abdullah Harib Al Habsi as Japan took advantage of a defensive breakdown by their opponents.
Japan, with several Europe-based stars on the roster, looked disorganized in the second half and narrowly escaped an embarrassing 0-0 draw on home soil.
In Doha, Qatar, Palestine crushed Taiwan 8-0 as Sfwan Habaib and Roberto Beshe scored two goals each.
In Guangzhou, China, veteran striker Hao Haidong headed the ball into an open net in the 74th minute to lead China past 10-man Kuwait 1-0.
Kuwait, coached by Brazilian Paulo Cesar Carpeggiani, failed to get a single shot on goal.
The Kuwaitis began to show their frustration in the latter minutes of the game, with Hamad Al-Tayar sent off for spitting in the face of China's Li Weifeng after an exchange of words.
In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Ibrahim al-Sewid scored two goals as Saudi Arabia beat Indonesia 3-0 in Group 8 at Riyadh's King Fahd stadium.
Yasser Qahtani also scored for the hosts, who dominated the match and squandered several second-half chances.
The second round of Asian qualifying consists of 32 teams split into eight groups of four. The group winners advance to the next stage.
