I was wondering if anyone knew off hand how a foriegner can signup for Cyworld, Naver, Hanmail, etc... I know for registering for these things you need a number (like our SSN except we don't need it for this stuff)... I know one time when I was trying to sign up an email at naver.com I went through a foriegner signup and they gave me a message that basically said, "We will think about it and send you an email later" aka to bad for you... Just wanted to get another thought in... If I went to korea would I recieve a register number (or w/e ya'll call it since I forgot [sry])... Anyways just wanted to maybe get some info...
thx in advance

http://www.ejeju.net/company_info/content.asp?number=1
Notice how the end of it says "number=1"
You can change that number randomly within a set domain...it probably updates, but any given number returns the same information. I also assume you read enough Korean to process that information for registration.
Anyway, I haven't tried this information on any sites like that, but it's worth a try for you, I guess. I hear it works in some places. _________________ Àλý¿¡¼ °¡Àå Áß¿äÇÑ °ÍÀº ÂѾƼ ¾ò¾îÁö´Â °ÍÀÌ ¾Æ´Ï¶ó ÀúÀý·Î ¹ß°ßµÇ´Â °ÍÀÌ´Ù.

While we're on the subject, is registration required to view Cyworld homepages or blogs? Every time I get a link to one, I always see the same blank default page. _________________ Àλý¿¡¼ °¡Àå Áß¿äÇÑ °ÍÀº ÂѾƼ ¾ò¾îÁö´Â °ÍÀÌ ¾Æ´Ï¶ó ÀúÀý·Î ¹ß°ßµÇ´Â °ÍÀÌ´Ù.

no... when you go to a page the page pops up in a popup window...
so when you visit a page there should be a popup of the persons page...
I would disable all popup blockers...
but to comment you have to register and maybe other stuff but I don't need to register to view it... |

How utterly annoying! Well, thanks for the tip. If I ever decide to read such a blog again, I'll keep that in mind. _________________ Àλý¿¡¼ °¡Àå Áß¿äÇÑ °ÍÀº ÂѾƼ ¾ò¾îÁö´Â °ÍÀÌ ¾Æ´Ï¶ó ÀúÀý·Î ¹ß°ßµÇ´Â °ÍÀÌ´Ù.

| If you think that is annoying you should try signing up for cyworld. If you are a foreigner then too bad. You have to send your drivers licsense, passport, middle school ID and alien registration forms just to be on cyworld. I just want to talk to my friend. Why do they need all of this information just so I can stay in touch with some of my friends from korea. |
