So, are there any books and study helps available to America for absolute beginners? Or at least any you'd reccomend? I've checked various bookstores, and they didn't have anything!!! It's quite sad. I hate those books that give you a little info, then change what it says later on.. Give it to me straight up front!! haha
Any other study helps would be awesome too..
For example, I have this little hand held device, not quite a PDA, it's just an electronic dictionary and translator for Japanese Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji.. I've also seen books with tons of sheets and guides to help you perfect your writing.. While I didn't buy them I looked through them in stores, and they gave me a better understanding of the proper stroke orders.
Sorry if this is another repeat topic :\ I have tried to do my best over looking through the other topics.. It's just a little scary to buy a book online that you can't look at first in a store!!
I think the KLEAR series (the one you gave the link for) is the best on the market for native English speakers looking to learn Korean. I am on the intermediate levels now. The series has TONS of exercises (i.e. they have a workbook too), and the material builds very slowly in complexity from one chapter to the next. In addition, there are like 10 or so books in the series as well as various advanced readers and even a book a Chinese characters. Also, they have the audio free online:
