hello, new here, want to get into learning korean so I was looking for a good textbook or series. I found http://www.hanbooks.com/gankorforfor.html
The book i found and was interested in was GANADA korean for foreigners elementary 1(book+CDs) it also has a workbook but I was wanting to know if anyone here has used it or the sogang books.
If you have used either of these texts please let me know what you thought of them. Thanks |

hi ichigo19,
i've studied the GANADA books and I would definitely recommend them. the dialogues and the vocabulary are very useful. the cd's that come with each book give you the answers to the grammar sentences and offer a ton of examples- those are really helpful too.
the only drawback, if any, is that some of the english translations and explanations are sloppy if not amusing and get progressively more entertaining with each GANADA book, but these books are for learning korean and not english so that shouldn't matter too much. there are also editions for chinese and japanese students of korean so maybe those ones are better.
i definitely would recommend the GANADA series to you. good luck! _________________ 265. Å A big(÷Á) lazy(÷½) pregnant(÷Ã) woman
