I'm not sure if this is true but heard that because people would always get sick when you sneezed on them that sneezing was evil or whatever you sneezed out was evil since the results were obviously bad.
What ever possessed people to get mullets? I mean seriously, they have no practical purpose and they look dirty! |

The korean name to yoru movie I believe is yuhpkee yuhjanun kuenyang or something similar but spelledd wayyyyy different I cant spell korean due to not knowing. Plus korean romanization is so different the Japanese romanization.
Why does it seem as if "American" culture is kinda the absence of true culture? It is rare for american kids to know their family history beyond grand parents. |

Actually the official language is English, but there's always been talk of making Spanish an official language as well, though it's never been put into action as of yet.
I do love the fact that there are so many languages and cultures in America. I've met so many different types of people from around the world and it gets you interested in world cultures. My Korean friends are what inspired me to research Korean culture!
Hmmm.....new question....why do hamburger rolls come in packs of 8 and hot dogs come in packs of 10?
Well because sometimes in life you have to make due with what you get. Nothing really comes in the same amounts so you have to learn to work around problems |

In the dark-middle ages a was based on the idea that sickness was caused by evil spirits. To cure headaches and other sicknesses, they would drill a hole in the person's skull, believing that this would release the evil spirits in his head. Sneezing was also seen as releasing evil spirits, and that's why they would say, "God bless you" after someone sneezed.
Another story for why we say "Bless you" : People thought that breath=soul. When you sneeze, you're expelling breath and therefore losing part of your soul. People said "Bless you" so you could get some of your soul back - (or something like that).
Why do Korean people (especially women) sometimes put their hands over their mouths when they laugh or smile? I asked this question before, but didn't get much of an answer. |

That's a good question. English is subject - verb - object
Tony kicked the ball.
Isn't Korean subject - object - verb?
Cho nun Canada Kayo (I will go to Canada).
Still, why do Korean girls put their hands over their mouths when they laugh or smile? I really want to know. Somebody must know the history of it. |
