Hi! I am a Korean American adopted from Kang-won-do, S. Korea. My parents are caucasian and I never really learned much about Korean language or its culture. I've never been to Korea either. Now that I'm in college, I am around Korean kids my age. I joined a club called KASA [Korean American Student Association]. Everyone in it is pretty much "fresh off the boat" and I'm probably the biggest "twinkie" there. I'm freshman rep as well and on the eBoard, so I'd like to know what they are talking about because they do speak a lot of korean. anyway, that's why I'm here. To become less of a "twinkie" and embrace my heritage!! |

Comment: Hi, so that mean your parents r americans. Well i wish you good luck in learning korean. Actually you should be very grateful to have parents to love. I don't think it takes a long time to learn korean. So wish you all the best..

Comment: I'm a Malaysian but need to travel to Daegu, S. Korea regularly to transfer some automated contact lens manufacturing technology to sister company in Daegu. I'm very interested to learn the Korean language & the good culture. I think there were a lots thing Singapore government copied from Korea but not the culture. I like the Korean culture & the determination of Koreans and their commitment on whatever they do. Korean language was so scientific and I'm very interested to learn, not easy for me to learning the pronunciation. So be proud of being Korean... |

Comment: Thats so awesome that you're doing that! Most people when they find out that im 5% Korean they dont believe me, (i guess it's the eyes i only have the flick on the outter corner of my lids and a slight fold on the inner corner) P.S Seoul is awesome you should really visit there =) |
