for those of you who know a bit about korean, you may or may not know that, in constructing a korean sentence, things which are already known to the speaker and listener may be omitted - ie they can be implied.
for example, if you want to say "I love you" to your boyfriend or girlfriend, you can just say 사랑해 (sa rang hae), which literally means "love" - the "I" and "you" can be omitted.
so one day i was chatting to my korean penfriend, and my ID included the phrase "do dae che al su ga ops o" (도대체 알 수가 없어 - the first few words of a song by Kiss).
my penfriend noticed this, and laughed
"여자이니까 좋아해" (yeo ja i ni kka choh a hae) i explained.
"you like me because you're a girl?" my penfriend asked confusedly (in korean)
"no" i replied
"i like you because you're a girl?" he then asked even more confusedly (again in korean).
"여자이니까 그 노래를 좋아해" (yeo ja i ni kka keu no rae reul choh a hae - "I like the song "Because I'm a Girl") I explained, feeling rather amused... I guess not all Korean teenagers like K-pop as much as some of the members of this forum :)
